Meet the Coaches
Khea Emms
Started playing Touch Rugby in 2011 and achieved her first KZN Cap in 2012. She played in KZN Junior teams for many years, followed by KZN Seniors - Women’s and Mixed Open teams. One of the highlights in her career was achieving top ladies try scorer in the Mixed Open division during Durban SIPTs in 2023.
Her qualifications include Touch Rugby Level 1 Referee Course and an Incog Coaching course.
On leaving school, Khea coached Touch Rugby at Hillcrest High School and has recently coached KZN Juniors u15 teams in 2024 and 2025. She is currently the KZN Women's Open Manager for the 2026 SIPTs.

Bryn Emms
Achieved his first KZN Juniors Cap in 2016 and his first Senior Men’s Open Cap in 2018 at 15 years old. In 2022, he started playing KZN Mixed Open and has captained the team since 2023.
Bryn is a Touch Rugby Level 3 Referee and a Level 1 Coach. He is also a Rugby Union Referee on the KZN Rugby Referees Panel with World Rugby Level 2 Referee and World Rugby Level 1 Coaching
qualifications. He has completed Level 1 First Aid and the Designated Safeguarding Officer courses.
Bryn has coached at Curro Hillcrest Primary School and is now working at Kearsney College as a Sports Intern and Coach, while studying a BSc in Strength and Conditioning.
In 2018, Bryn represented South Africa in the u18 Mixed team at the Junior World Cup in Malaysia, and again in 2024 in the Mixed Open team at the World Cup in England.
Bryn has coached KZN Juniors and refereed at multiple JIPTS. He is currently coaching a Senior KZN side for the 2026 SIPT.

Meekah Cocking
First started Touch Rugby in 2014 achieving her first KZN Juniors Cap the same year. She continued to play KZN Juniors from 2014 to 2019.
Her qualifications include a Touch Rugby Level 1 Referee Course and an Incog Coaching course.
Meekah coached at Curro Hillcrest High School from 2019 to 2025 with Curro 1st team winning the 2022 schools tournament. Of the Curro girls she coached, 11 became KZN players and 2 went on to represent South Africa.
She played her first KZN Seniors in 2016 continuing to play Mixed Open for 9 years. She achieved top try scorer in the Mixed Open division at the 2025 SIPTs.
In 2018, Meekah represented South Africa in the u18 Ladies Junior World Cup team in Malaysia, where they won a bronze medal. In 2024, she played in the South African Mixed Open team at the World Cup in England.
She has coached KZN Juniors for 3 years including the KZN u13 girls who won bronze at the 2025 JIPTs.

Dean Lovett
A rugby player turned Touch Rugby player, he has represented his province in both disciplines. Dean started playing Touch Rugby in 2009. He has played in the KZN Senior Mens and Mixed teams for many years.
Dean coached KZN boys u17 in 2025 and is assistant coach for the KZN Women’s Open team for 2026.
Dean also took on the role of Super Touch League manager for the February league in 2025.
